I got FTL yesteday and it's a pretty great game.

It's... It's hard to describe. It's got final death, so if you fuck up and let 4 giant mantises aboard your ship and murder everything, there's no going back (and if they murder EVERYBODY (which is completely likely), you're dead anyway). It's got a number of ships you can play as, which all have their strengths and weaknesses (like how some don't come installed with DOOR SYSTEMS or the ability to KNOW WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING INSIDE YOUR OWN SHIP besides from your crew). All I know is, it's pretty great and if you could I would recommend getting it when you can.

Yeah, I might actually get a PS4.
Not because I play video games enough to justify getting any of the next gen consoles, but to show just how much I don't want the Xbox One.
Will the PS4 be able to play games from the PS3? Because there were a few PS3 games that I wanted to get but couldn't be bothered to because I would also need to get a PS3.

Both of these "Next Gen" consoles suck in their own ways.

I think I just need to build a PC so I can have no problems. I'm not even being "PC Master Racist" cause many games will not get ported to PC. It's gonna be weird to see how these consoles will expand on tablets/smartphone though.

I won't be able to afford a ps4 or xbox one for years. It took me until 6 months ago to get a ps3...but thats how it was with the ps2, I came in at the end.

Only systems I was there for release were the snes, gameboy, and n64...everything I got waaaay after it came out. TBH I didn't own my own sega til I was 18

Backstory, I still have that SNES, and when I can find an RF switch it'll work just fine. That SNES just lasts forever..got it in 1990. That's a 23 year old console. To put things in perspective, in the last 10 years I've had 3 PS 2s, 4 xbox 360s, and about 6 cellphones...through all of that the SNES has lived. That thing is a fuckin beast, and I used to pack it up every weekend and take it to my friends house for about 2 years. By pack it up, I mean unplug it from the wall and tv and shove it in a plastic walmart bag and carry it a few miles. You can't move an xbox that much an expect it'll be fine, thats like..over 100 weekends which is like 200 travels, and I wasn't nice to it, I was swinging it around and dropping it and damn I was 5 years old when I got it.. 5 year olds don't treat shit with care...23 years later. I've thrown it, dropped it, got it wet, ignored it, let cats pee on it, spilled bbq sauce on it, cleaned it with water in its electronic parts, and what it is bishes. SNES doesn't give a fuck. SNES is like the honey badger, snes doesn't give a shit.(if you don't get the reference just google honey badger and watch the viral video about honey badger, it really doesn't give a shit)

I bought a PS3 mostly because I knew the PS4 wouldn't have backwards compatibility. The backwards compatibility issue isn't even that big a deal to me really.

the playstation 4 sucks a little less though and either way microsoft has been pretty consistently stupid the past couple of years with windows 8 so i'm a bit inclined to not give them money ever
