Official Kpop/Jpop Thread

I'll start with the video that started my obsession.



Hyuna was amazing to me when I first saw her. Absolutely stunning visually, and a pretty catchy song as well. I soon required more Kpop to stay alive. Naturally branching from Hyuna, I discovered the group she is in, 4minute.



This song, man. I fell in love instantly. That sax was just serenading me in indescribable ways. I had this on repeat for like a month straight. Still one of my favorite songs in the genre. I became head over heels for a specific member - Jiyoon. Her personality on Travel Maker (a show following 4minute on vacation) was just so damn adorable and she's hot as fuck.

I'll jump forward to where I am today. SNSD (Girls' Generation) is undeniably the most famous group in Kpop, and for good reason. Consistently putting out quality albums, all while touring the world and appearing on variety shows. On January 1st of this year they released their newest album "I Got a Boy." Such a strong album and a great comeback for them. The title track is catchy as hell and makes me happy literally every single time I listen to it.



I'm still playing this even three months after it came out. IT'S THE BEST.

There have been some other songs that have come out recently that I've liked as well. But these three have been the most prominent for me.

I'll probably just be using this thread to dump relevant .gifs and MVs and such. Your contributions are welcome though of course.

I love Kpop.

I have to agree. Hyuna is pretty damn awesome. Both her music and her APPEARANCE.
She's probably my favorite kpop artist, though that may be because I don't listen to that much of it.

I got started on jpop due to anime, OF COURSE. One of the first animes I watched when I was younger, Chobits, had a SUPER CUTE OP song. I fell in love, and started to listen to more of the band Roundtable, the producers of that song. From there I discovered bands such as Stereopony and School Food Punishment, both of which are some of my favorite bands to date.

It was kinda dull with those same bands for a while, but my interest was sparked again with the introduction of PONPONPON, which got me into the REALLY POPPY side of jpop.
