homestuck is pretty similar to science (other than the fact that homestuck actually does have a creator, while the other is disputed and almost definitely does not). Whenever there's a new development, its followers flip their shit and come up with all these crazy theories/hypotheses, and 99% (give or take) of them turn out to be wrong.

I was assuming the whole thing was referencing LotR a bit, it sounds like something Hussie would do. Anyway, with John and Tavros both falling asleep randomly like that I wouldn't be surprised if Vriska somehow set this all up.
