I bought them...and they were mine..

I will post some of their most incredible songs in a little bit. The stuff they had on the radio was basically their most generic music. Creep and High and Dry are both good songs, but they in no way represent the band. You might have also heard Karma Police and No Surprises, which are exceptions in that they are both excellent songs from what was arguably Radiohead's second best album.

For the most part, though the stuff they had on the radio was far less interesting and beautiful than their later music.

I had a feeling radiohead had to be better than what I'd heard here and there.

Especially once you started liking it :) We used to have very similar tastes in music, now I think the person I connect with most on a musical level is ptero4me6. I see his straight outta compton stuff from time to time and I'm like "yee-uhhh boooyyyyyy"

Also, this aint the thread for this question..but ptero...how's it coming with that cute ethnic girl? :)

I have to go soon, so I don't really have the time to compile a list of recommendations for their more rock oriented music, but I can tell you that OK Computer and In Rainbows are really good.

I listened to Kid A recently.

Didn't like it. I think I've also listened to OK Computer a while ago, and I didn't like that either. The reason why is I feel like Radiohead is just too mellow and somber. For the most part I can't stand music like that, I need to listen to stuff that's more upbeat.

Jolly says that Radiohead takes multiple listens to like but I think if I try to listen to a Radiohead album again I will actually fall asleep in the process.

Yeah, I think a lot of people get that issue with them. For me, it's something I can relate to... I've had a couple panic attacks, I've been in emotional distress, I've been through periods of depression. In general, what you listen to depends on your mood. But it's so fucking sad that I can't listen to it sometimes. I usually listen to Kid A, Amnesiac, The Bends, and Hail To The Thief when I'm stressed out or sad (occasionally I do just feel like listening to it, though). I listen to In Rainbows when I'm in a good mood, and although I can't really pinpoint the state I'm in when I listen to OK Computer or The King Of Limbs, I generally have very, very self-reflective experiences when I do so.
