That was definitely my first guess.

They played Purple Yellow Red and Blue to open Sony's E3 press conference.

Which was kinda jarring because I had just finished listening to that song not too long ago.

Yeah, but pitchfork is a joke. Half the time they don't even legitimately review the album-they'll discuss how the band sucks (ex: review of Viva La Vida by Coldplay) or something of the like. They also have a tendency to compare albums to their predecessors way, way too much. Every single album review they do of Sigur Ros mentions Agaetis Byrjun at least once. They'd give an excellent album a low score because it isn't as good as the last album by the band or it's too similar to the last album by the band in question. Pitchfork has written a screenplay instead of a review. Pitchfork has posted a video of a monkey eating its own shit instead of a review. I don't take the website seriously. It's a joke.

I don't care about music reviews because music is entirely subjective.

When I was subscribed to Rolling Stone I found they would sometimes give some fair and insightful album reviews...but of course they can't be right all the time, as mentioned music is subjective to who's listening.

RS tried really hard to to be nonbiased with their music reviews :) I dunno if they try anymore, but 7 years ago they were p good.

i don't read album reviews because "hey let's hear what some snobby asshole being paid to tell you what to like has to say about Yeezus" is not a thought that enters my head

I got really into album reviews for a while because they helped me find some really great albums
e.g.: Kid A, Agaetis Byrjun, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Elephant, Sea Change, Oracular Spectacular, and others. Kid A and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot are easily in my top 5 favorite albums. I've noticed that, while reviewers can get things wrong (mostly negative reviews), when they all agree that something is a total masterpiece, it generally is. Without reviews, I would not have found Radiohead, my one true lord and savior.
Besides, I generally don't actually read reviews, I just look at the ratings. I usually ignore bad ratings unless they're totally unanimous. I just read a few Pitchfork reviews because I was wondering why the fucking hell they gave Viva La Vida or Death and All of His Friends a 6.8 or 6.7 or whatever the hell it is. It's a fantastic album, Pitchfork got it wrong.
