ITT: I recommend music

Essentially, you post a song or an album (if I don't know it or don't know it well, I'll listen to it) that you like, and I recommend another song or album (or maybe even an artist) that you might like based off of what you posted.

I can try my best with rap-I don't know it well, but I do know some stuff-but I can tell you beforehand that I don't know shit about country and probably won't be able to recommend anything unless it is similar to Bob Dylan or Neil Young, or perhaps it's by Bob Dylan or Neil Young.

I know the most about Rock, Alternative, and experimental stuff, but I am totally willing to step out of my comfort zone and look.
Don't worry about asking me to find too much stuff. I will decide what is and what isn't too much.

It's hard to find newer artists that do bluesy stuff like the Black Keys, but you might want to try The Raconteur's new album, Consolers of the Lonely*. And then, of course, Jack White played a lot of blues guitar in his work with The White Stripes**.
I don't know if this one is a little bit of a reach, but iTunes suggests Broken Bells*** in the Listeners Also Bought section.
And, as always, you could also check out some other stuff by The Black Keys--Brothers is a fantastic album, and I hear Attack & Release is also good.

For Cage the Elephant, the instrumental piece of Aint No Rest For The Wicked reminds me of some of Beck's earlier work, such as Mellow Gold**** and Odelay*****. You could also try some stuff by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers******, and maybe even some stuff by Sublime. Don't know about Sublime though, that's iffy.

For the Beastie Boys, Beck-Odelay. The album incorporates some rap (especially the song "Where It's At").

I can give it a try, if you want. I may not like rap much, but I am still able to draw connections between musical sounds and textures, still able to tell what's good writing and what isn't, and I'm certainly still able to use various places on the internet to find similar stuff. It just means it won't come quite as easy as recommendations that I would make for stuff like what Tet posted, or oldies bands, or just anything in the rock universe.
Plus, if it's critically acclaimed (ex: in Rolling Stone's top 500 album of all time or top 100 albums of the decade) I know about it.

nope. rap can be pretty diverse, despite what most people think.

I generally steer clear of rap, metal, country, disco, and dubstep.

Mainstream rap is not my shit.
