Basically, you control very tiny plant people to get all your shit done, like the lazy ass you are. The first game, you crash land on the planet and save the pikmin from extinction with your forced slavery and repopulation to get all your ship parts. Then once you get back, your money-grubbing boss sells your ship and the one thing you brought back for your kid. Then you and some other douche go to the planet to make a whole fuckin bunch of money.
That is the basic premise.

Its funny because there are actually five types of pikmin that aren't huge dicks parasiting into animals and controlling them.
