This morning as I was leaving for work I opened a can of cat food and poured it into their bowl, then I set the empty can next to the dish because my cats love to lick out the juices(kinky) that are left behind.
When I returned home from work I found that like a bazillionjillion ants decided they would rather lick out the juices left behind.
I also noticed that there were two spider webs RIGHT NEXT to the ant trail...so while I was taking my after-work-shit I began idly flicking ants into the spider webs and the spiders actually learned that my aim kinda sucked, so I watched them build better webs to catch ants while I was poopin.
Two spiders within a few inches of each other had built these nets for receiving flicked ants... so I flicked their nets full of ants to where the spiders were nearly overwhelmed with how much food they were being given and the ants were working together to try and destroy the nets... I slowed down the flicking of ants until the spiders could catch up and over 15 minutes of me drinkin a beer and smoking some cigarettes I managed to get the spiders down near the ant trails..
Right now, as I'm typing, those spiders are going to war with their food/enemies... I know where a few other spiders are throughout the house and considered deploying them to the bathroom near the cat food, but I think 2 spiders in that small area is dangerous enough (for the spiders, they're territorial bitches) and that adding any more might cause them to ignore the ants and fight other spiders.
I'm using a natural way of killing ants and its cool.
I'll let them stock up on food and then I'll go in there and cover the ants in windex because the ammonia eats away at their joints and their legs and bodies fall apart...but we'll see how much nature can clean up for me <3
This is not the first time I've used spiders as ant control, and I know it won't be my last. whenever you see a spider, think of all the other creepy crawlies that are being kept away thanks to said spider <3
