Well, assuming you listened to that like this is a tangible conversation and not a post, you suddenly understand jack shit.

Well, I have unravelled the giant ball of bullshit psychosis that it is the worst thing ever (probably).

It's all just about a guy having literally the worst day ever.

In short, his giant robot is his cthulufied dead mother, his dad is the biggest jackass, and he lives in a world where nobody does anything that makes sense. He jacked off onto his near-death girlfriend. Like I said, the worst day.

So he makes a decision. What decision, you might ask?

Simple: He decides that all of humanity should take it right up the ass.

And they do. So powerful of a faux-religious, completely makes-no-fucking-sense assrape that everything dies. The end.

I fucking hate anime.

Okay, first of all I have to admit that I've never watched Evangelion, but I do really like anime, so I'd like to argue your point that anime is stupid, BS, that it "f***ing sucks", etc.

Never having watched it, I have heard that fans were upset with the ending of the first Evangelion TV run, which tells me that it might not be the anime to base all your judgements of anime on.

Just because you watched one series that you thought sucked because of the plot and the ending doesn't mean that all anime are like that. Take the series Full Metal Panic! for example. This is another older anime that involves fighting robots, but it doesn't have the religious allusions and everybody doesn't die at the end; spoiler alert: only the villain dies. Also the protagonist is nice to the girl. There are also other quality anime aimed at slightly younger audiences like Fullmetal Alchemist and Naruto. These have well-developed and complete plot lines and they promote positive themes, such as determination and friendship. Additionally the girls in these series are treated as equals to guys. And of course there are anime based of shojo (girls) manga that have good plots and really nice messages, like Fruits Basket (the manga of which has an excellent plot, in my opinion).

Anime also have the benefit of getting people interested in Japanese culture and language who otherwise may have never taken an interest in it, therefore fostering understanding between eastern and western culture.

Finally keep in mind that anime is just entertainment. I understand that what you find entertaining and what I find entertaining could be different, but there are many people who find anime like Evangelion entertaining, which is why anime like it exist, and just because anime like Evangelion exist does not make all anime bad.
