What is the difference between want and want on vinyl, exactly? To be more specific, what is a vinyl and why is it different than a normal copy of an album?

vinyl is ~analog~ so it has a different (and i think better) quality to it. i haven't listened to any vinyl in a while though so i can't say for sure what the difference could be.

vinyl is made based off of the analog tapes, which results in hearing a more pure sound closer to what it would have actually been in the studio; ie it sounds better. I would like to hear some of my favorite albums on vinyl, so I made a separate list.

To those who do buy albums physically, where do you usually buy them? A record store?

I have a local record store, and so I usually get it from them when I can. Occasionally I'll order it on Amazon.

That feel when no local record stores. I think the closest one is in like, Boston. The only place near me that sells albums is a Best Buy.

I hope one day I get the chance to raid a record store and buy a ton of shit.

i think i dropped $256 in a record store once
that was for chreestmoose though (most of my list was music, so my mom just thought she would take me to the store because she didn't know how to prioritize)

You can find some pretty good albums on vinyl either at record stores or sometimes even at the goodwill/thrift store. A bunch of bands these days have been having limited pre-orders of a vinyl record. I've got 3 or 4 albums on vinyl that I bought when I was at their show and they had it at the merch table. My dad collects records so he has a turntable n whatnot and it's just a different sound than if you're listening to it through the computer or something. I wouldn't say that it's "better" but at least with old records yeah you get to hear something that hasn't been through too much post processing.

It's my favorite album by far, and I love spreading it's unjoy. I've given it to two different people irl already, and would be happy to give it to more people.

I'm not mad. Aktve has a different taste in music than I do. He likes k and j pop (which are fucking godawful in my opinion), and I think rap and a bit of metal maybe. Those are all genres I can't really get into. I'm not going to be super defensive about Radiohead. I'm pretty secure in my belief that the albums Kid A and OK Computer by Radiohead are works of musical and artistic genius, and I don't really give a fuck about what other people think of them anymore. I'm not going to try and convince anyone otherwise. I will continue to recommend the albums, as they mean so much to me and if I can give what they've given to me to anyone else, I would feel as though I've done some good. Whatever floats your boat. But they are excellent albums. They just aren't right for you.

I like pretty much everything, I can even appreciate some country. But yeah, Radiohead just ain't for me.

I think I'm like this excluding the country and radiohead parts. Also not as crazy about all k-pop/j-pop obviously

I heard new MSI songs tonight. I want that album
